Our History
Meiya Jewellery was founded by my father in the late 1980s. He started picking up jewellery craftsmanship in Hong Kong at the tender age of 16. After arriving in Singapore in his early 20s, he began understudying and learning from master craftsmen to improve his crafts. He eventually set up Meiya Jewellery in his mid-30s.

So, why the name Meiya? Well, Mei (美) translate to beautiful and ya (雅) translate to elegant in Chinese. He hopes that everyone who adorns his handcrafted jewellery will be empowered with both beauty and elegance.

Our Journey
Meiya Jewellery has not changed much since its opening in the early 1980s. It started off as a humble jewellery repair shop in Thomson and eventually moved to Orchard in the 1990s. To this day, our craftsmen still use traditional techniques to customise and restore jewellery pieces for our clients.

It was only during the recent Covid-19 pandemic that I decided that it was time to help out in the family business. I slowly picked up Jewellery CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software to customise beautiful pieces for our customers.
